We're an official social enterprise!

When I started my old graphic design studio many years ago I liked to use the slogan “good work for good people”. I thought it sounded nice and I used it as a very loose guidance for my work… I mean, who doesn’t want to work with good people and do good work, right?

The trouble was, I didn’t really know what that meant. I just helped anyone who needed my branding and graphic design skills, and I avoided working with overtly evil corporations. And that’s where it ended.

Becoming a social enterprise.

Fast-forward a few years and I’ve finally understood what that means. I’ve worked hard to reassess my values, discovered a cause to put my skills towards, and identified exactly who I want to help. And in the process I’ve become a social enterprise.

As of today, I’m very happy to announce that I am officially recognised by the Social Enterprise Mark CIC and I’m a holder of their official mark.

What does it mean?

We are accredited as a genuine social enterprise – the Social Enterprise Mark is an independent guarantee that we put the interests of people & planet above shareholder gain. We have been externally assessed against sector-agreed criteria and have proved our commitment to using profits and income to create benefits for society and the environment.

We are part of a diverse international network of accredited social enterprises, which have been assessed as meeting a robust and credible standard for social enterprise, as upheld by an independent Certification Panel. Social enterprises are trading businesses that reinvest income and profits to address social and environmental issues, above that of shareholder profit motivations. Through social enterprise, businesses like ours can operate with a positive impact on the world we live in.

My social mission.

“Good Will Studios is an ethical design agency, which helps social enterprises, environmental causes and purpose-driven organisations find their brand voice and make a bigger impact. We fundamentally believe that design and creativity should be a force for good. Our aim is to equip our change-making clients with the creative assets, brand strategies, and visual identities that are vitally important if they are to stand out from the crowd, achieve their goals, and build support for the causes that matter most.”

So I look forward to helping other social enterprises and those who put purpose over profit to help make the world a little bit better. Let’s get started!
